Wahkeena Falls Picnic
across from Wahkeena Falls
at Historic Columbia River
Our course, the Wahkeena
Falls Trail /
Larch Mt Trail loop features the most photographed waterfalls in the
Columbia River Gorge, including Multnomah
Falls, Ecola, Wiesendanger, Fairy, and Wahkeena Falls.
The lower sections of the
course are paved trail, and the rest is on a range of smooth to
technical trail of soft sod, hard-pack dirt, and rock. The lowest point
is about 30 feet above sea level, and the course involves steep
inclines, reaching heights of 1800 feet.
This race hosts the
Superhero Competition, where the first male and female finisher wearing
a superhero costume wins a special prize. In addition, there are also
overall and age-group awards, plus Eric's celebrated tortilla soup.
